Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory

Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science

2201 Michigan Avenue Cocoa, Florida 32926 321-632-1830 Visit an archaeological dig of the 7,000 year-old Windover burial site, explore the customs of the Ais and Seminole Indian tribes and discover what it was like to live in an early 19th-century village. History comes alive at this museum through hands-on exhibits for adults and children. An added feature are tours that guide you through a 22-acre nature preserve.

Forever Florida and Crescent J. Ranch

Kenansville Road St. Cloud, Florida 34773 888-957-9794 Forever Florida began as a young man's dream to save at least a portion of the unspoiled ecosystems that were being ravaged by rapid Florida development. The result is a lush natural preserve and cattle ranch where you can experience Florida's frontier on horseback or by coach. Science, education and pure fun are all a part of this natural section of Florida. Comprised of a 4,700 acre cattle ranch and nature preserve, it blends "Old Florida" charm with an exciting and educational opportunity to view native animals and plants in their natural environment. Grasshopper Airboat Ecotours

Captain Rick, a US Coast Guard Master and one of Florida's best-known naturalists, narrates a tour that takes you by airboat down Florida's St. Johns River. Elevated, cushioned seats aboard a custom-built, Grasshopper airboat—a state-of-the-art watercraft—ensure an unobstructed view of the amazing array of wildlife, from alligators and native and migratory birds to remarkable river cows.

Jungle Adventures

26205 East Highway 50 Christmas, Florida 32709 877-4-A-GATOR (877-424-2867) One of Florida's oldest all-natural attractions, Jungle Adventures offers a myriad of reasons to spend a few hours at this 20-acre park and wildlife sanctuary. In this protected environment, peacocks and deer will eat right from your hand. You can feed hot dogs to little alligators and even handle the babies. Programs and tours each day give you a chance to experience Florida's wildlife in its natural environment. On a cruise through the swamp you may spot crocodiles, turtles, snakes, monkeys, macaws, skunks, bobcats, panthers, bears and deer—a feast for the eyes.

Ron Jon Surf Shop

4151 N. Atlantic Avenue Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931 321-799-8888 Billed as "One of a Kind," this unique establishment has grown from a surf shop to an enterprising chain of entertainment venues. Perhaps the most famous location of all, the Cocoa Beach Ron John's is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Inside its 52,000 square feet of multi-level space, this store features its own waterfall, glass elevator, and live entertainment. Shopping for swimwear? It's here, along with surfboards, surf brand clothing, souvenirs, beach and surf gear, resort wear and the all-important, world-famous Ron Jon® T-shirt. With 2.4 million visitors each year, this qualifies as an attraction.

Valiant Sir Command Warbird Aviation Museum

6600 Tico Road Titusville, Florida 32780 321-268-1941 This tribute to US aviators and their aircraft is both a venue for air shows and a museum, complete with restored historic military aircraft. Its 30,000 square foot display area accommodates the wing span and tail assembly of all but the largest bombers. An additional 15,000 square feet is devoted to commemorating the valiant warriors who flew and maintained these aircraft.

Canaveral National Seashore

Located on a barrier island, this enclave of plant and animal life provides a natural preserve for you to enjoy. On this Atlantic shore are beach, dune, hammock, lagoon, salt marsh, and pine flatland habitats. More than 1,000 species of plants and over 300 species of birds inhabit this pristine stretch of nature.

You'll enjoy a trip on the Super Speedway in a two-seater go-cart over a figure-eight track. Then there's the Junior Indy Track for kids who meet size requirements, and Formula One racing—European style—with wide, sweeping uphill turns. But this park is about MORE than cars and racing! There are batting cages, water rides, miniature golf and an indoor arcade to offer something for everyone—especially Andretti fans.

Brevard Zoo

Wickham Road Melbourne, Florida 32940 321-254-9453 Dedicated to conservation through education and participation, the Brevard Zoo presents distinct habitats representing life as it is in Africa, Madagascar, native Florida and an Australian aviary. This is the only zoo in the country where you can actually kayak on site, paddling alongside an 18-foot-tall giraffe, observing a rhino graze or watching lemurs leap from tree to tree on their very own Lemur Island. A train ride takes you to the aviary or you can visit the petting zoo. There's also the "paws-on" interactive playground of animal study and a magnificent butterfly garden that surrounds you with beauty as scores of butterfly species flutter overhead or flit through the flowering undergrowth.

Sea World Orlando

Its three claims to fame are the Humunga Kowabunga, three enclosed, side-by-side speed slides that drop you 214 feet to the water below, a Surf Pool, the world's largest, where the surf is always up, and Shark Reef, where you can actually swim with sharks and other aquatic life.
